Joining Meadows City Tennis Club

Interested in joining our friendly tennis club in Edinburgh? Discover here what we offer to our members and how the club works – we can organise for you to join a few tester sessions to see if you like it!

What does the club offer?

We offer many opportunities for social tennis, competitive play and we also have a junior club with supervised sessions.

We have 4 social sessions a week in the Spring/Summer and 2 in the Autumn/Winter. These sessions are open to all members – you can turn up and play with other members present, usually doubles, and then mix with other members at the end of your set. It’s a great way to meet new tennis players!

We also have a range of fun tennis events and tournaments throughout the year.

We offer opportunities for competitive play – we have a singles, doubles a mixed doubles tournament every year, as well as many teams entered in the East of Scotland Leagues for team play.

How does the club work?

Meadows City Tennis Club rents its court time from Edinburgh Leisure for its various activities at the Meadows tennis courts.

Members will be invited to our events and are free to join all the weekly social sessions every week. If members wish to play at the Meadows outwith club activities, they will have to book a court from Edinburgh Leisure at their own cost.

What level is the club aimed at?

The adult club is generally aimed at players of intermediate ability upwards (as a minimum, can consistently serve and maintain a rally from forehand and backhand). This helps ensure a general level of play and enjoyment for all members.

Unfortunately we cannot accept beginners. If you are looking for beginner coaching at the Meadows, Edinburgh Leisure offers classes throughout the year.
